  • In the 2014 Major League Baseball draft, he was selected by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 2nd round.
  • Although he had previously committed to play college baseball at Arizona State University, Alex Verdugo had to change the plan as he decided to sign with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
  • He played 49 games for the Arizona League Dodgers and hit .347 and was awarded post-season Arizona League All-Star honors and Baseball America Rookie league all-star honors.
  • He made it to the Class-A Great Lakes Loons of the Midwest League to start 2015. He then made it to the post-season all-star team after he hit .295 in 101 games.
